About Northfleet
Northfleet is a Western Australian transport and equipment business. We run buses, trucks and heavy haulage out of five depots — Osborne Park (head office), Hazelmere, Port Hedland, Karratha and Newman — supporting resources, civil and passenger transport clients across the state.
Our ICT team is small, hands-on and trusted. We own the whole stack rather than outsourcing it, which means you get real breadth, real ownership and real opportunity, not a ticket queue and a script.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Helpdesk Officer to be the front line of ICT support for the business. You will resolve the majority of what comes in yourself, escalate what genuinely needs it, and take the lead on making recurring problems go away for good.
This is a Perth-based role at Osborne Park, reporting to the Head of ICT. Occasional travel to metro and regional depots is part of the job.
What you will be doing
- First and second-level support across hardware, software, network and mobility issues for users at all five depots
- Administering our Microsoft 365 tenant — Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint compliance
- Endpoint build, deployment, patching and lifecycle management across laptops, desktops, tablets and mobiles
- Utilising AI technologies to improve our business
- User and licence administration, onboarding and offboarding
- Supporting our line-of-business systems
- Supporting in-vehicle and depot technology — telematics, tablets, printers, scanners and site connectivity
- Maintaining accurate ticket records, asset registers and knowledge base documentation
- Participating in the ICT on-call roster
- Identifying recurring issues and driving the fix — process, automation or training
What you will need
Essential
- Several years of experience in a helpdesk, service desk or desktop support role, working with limited supervision
- Microsoft 365 platform — Demonstrable hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience. This is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have. You should be comfortable in the M365 admin centres, Entra ID and Intune day to day
- Solid Windows 11 and Microsoft endpoint troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals — DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Genuine customer service ability, including the patience to support non-technical users across depots and worksites
- Clear written documentation skills
- Willingness and availability to participate in an after-hours on-call roster
- Current C-class WA driver licence
- Australian work rights
Desirable
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Information Technology, or relevant Microsoft certifications
- PowerShell scripting for administration and automation
- Experience with AI
- Experience supporting ERP platforms, ideally Odoo
- Exposure to transport, mining services, construction or similar operational industries
- Experience supporting remote or regional sites
- Familiarity with telematics or in-vehicle monitoring systems
What is on offer
- A permanent role with real ownership and visible impact on the business
- A small team where your work is seen and your ideas get heard
- Exposure to a modern stack — Microsoft 365, Intune, Odoo, AWS, telematics and AI tooling — with support to build skills across it
- Training and certification support
- Free on-site parking at Osborne Park
- Variety. No two days on a transport and heavy equipment fleet look the same
How to apply
