At Philip Morris International, we're transforming our business to deliver a smoke-free future. We're looking for a commercially minded, analytically driven Commercial Planning Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract who can turn data into insight, strategy into action, and complexity into simple, executable plans.
This role sits at the centre of Commercial Planning, Digital, Deployment and Retailer Engagement, helping shape where we invest, which retailers we prioritise, and what actions teams should take next to accelerate growth.
As a Commercial Planning Analyst, you will orchestrate commercial activities across channels, customers and retailer segments. You will translate market insights, sales performance, retailer behaviour and engagement data into clear recommendations, deployment actions and next-best call-to-action guidance.
Working with Commercial, Deployment, Digital, BI and DI&A teams, you will help build a more intelligent commercial engine through better segmentation, dashboards, AI-enabled recommendations and practical action lists for field, contact centre and digital engagement.
-
Support quarterly commercial plans, activation calendars, field guidance, targets and success measures across channels, customers and retailer segments.
-
Monitor performance across sales, share, portfolio, pricing, deployment and retailer engagement to identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
-
Develop retailer segmentation and prioritisation frameworks that guide where PMI should focus time, resources and investment.
-
Analyse outlet behaviour, engagement and execution data to identify intervention opportunities and improve retailer journeys.
-
Build rules, triggers and business logic that recommend the most effective next action, channel and timing for retailers and field teams.
-
Convert complex datasets into simple, prioritised next-best call-to-action recommendations, including which retailers to visit, contact, activate or re-engage.
-
Support AI-enabled recommendations, retailer prioritisation models, dynamic route planning and route-to-market optimisation initiatives.
-
Create deployment-ready action lists, dashboards and scorecards that support faster, more consistent decision-making.
-
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, automate reporting and improve data accessibility across Commercial teams.
-
Generate actionable insights from retailer, customer, field and market data, and present recommendations clearly to operational and senior leadership audiences.
-
Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving and commercial thinking capability.
-
Advanced Excel and Power BI skills, with experience analysing large datasets and translating insights into action.
-
Strong stakeholder management, communication and storytelling skills.
-
Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution in a fast-paced environment.
-
Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, retail, sales operations or commercial planning.
-
Exposure to retailer segmentation, CRM, customer journeys, loyalty programs, Salesforce, SQL, AI, predictive analytics or recommendation engines.
The successful candidate will think commercially, simplify complexity, use data to influence decisions, understand retailer behaviour, and be excited about using AI and analytics to improve retailer engagement and deployment effectiveness.
At PMI, you'll help shape the future of retailer engagement, AI-enabled decision-making and route-to-market excellence while contributing to our vision of a smoke-free future.
