Why You Should Apply
This business manages more than 1,300 sites across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, more than tripling in size over the past twelve months through acquisition and development. The finance function is still catching up to that growth, and the systems and data behind it are a work in progress rather than a finished product.
What the business wants from this hire is someone who treats that as an opportunity rather than a frustration. Solid budgeting, forecasting and modelling is the entry ticket. What actually gets you hired is a track record of taking a process, a model or a report that wasn't working and making it better, then explaining that story in plain language to people who don't live in a spreadsheet.
If you want a business partnering seat inside a business scaling fast, this is worth your attention.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Reporting and Analytics Manager, you will sit as the dedicated finance business partner for one of the fastest growing parts of the portfolio, working alongside regional and site leadership rather than behind a desk producing reports for them.
A newly appointed reporting analyst is building out the group's dashboard capability in parallel, which means this role is not the one systemising the data, it is the one using it to have better commercial conversations.
The underlying data isn't clean, and it won't be for a while. Acquisitions keep landing before the systems catch up. If you need a settled, predictable environment to do your best work, this isn't it. If you'd rather be the person who brings order to that kind of mess, keep reading.
What You'll Do
The role splits across budgeting, forecasting and business partnering, with the balance shifting as the portfolio grows.
- Own budgeting and forecasting for a defined portfolio segment, building property-level P&L models on occupancy and cost assumptions
- Model the financial impact of new acquisitions, from first-year budgets through to lease-up projections
- Identify where reporting or process is falling short and lead the fix
- Maintain dashboards and reporting packs covering occupancy, revenue and cost performance
- Partner directly with regional and site leadership on commercial performance
- Work with data that isn't clean yet, apply pragmatic fixes and lift its quality
- Support new acquisitions through due diligence and integration
- Translate financial detail into plain language for people who don't live in a spreadsheet
What You'll Do
The role splits across budgeting, forecasting and business partnering, with the balance shifting as the portfolio grows.
- Confident business partner who can explain a difficult concept in plain English
- Comfortable working with imperfect data and improving it as you go
- Strong foundation in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and advanced Excel, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
- A documented example of making a process, model or report meaningfully better
- CA or CPA qualified or progressing, advantageous
The Offer
$125k to $135k plus super, two days working from home with some flexibility on which days. You'll join a finance function during a genuine growth phase, in a seat built to shape how the business partners with the rest of the portfolio, not just report on it.
