HR Business Partner

SCECS is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join our People & Culture team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will play a key role in delivering strategic and operational people solutions that support organisational performance, employee engagement, compliance, and workforce capability.

About the Role
As the HR Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders across the organisation to provide expert support and guidance on a broad range of people and culture matters. You will partner with stakeholders to deliver practical HR solutions while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, industrial instruments, and organisational policies.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing coaching and advisory support to leaders on employee relations, performance management and workforce matters.
Managing employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, probation, performance reviews and offboarding.
Supporting complex employee relations matters, investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes.
Providing advice on employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and organisational policies.
Supporting workforce planning, change management and organisational development initiatives.
Coordinating learning and development activities and maintaining compliance records.
Analysing workforce data and HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and organisational culture initiatives.
Contributing to People & Culture projects, remuneration benchmarking and annual HR programs.
Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring compliance across HR systems and processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline.
Minimum 7 years' experience in a Human Resources, HR Business Partner or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements and industrial relations frameworks.
Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters, investigations and performance management processes.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Experience using HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
Current Working With Children Check.
Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
Desirable
Experience using ELMO HRIS.
Experience within the education and/or not-for-profit sector.
Knowledge of industrial instruments relevant to the education sector.
