Operations Manager – NDIS / SIL

South Melbourne Care Services (SMCS) is seeking an experienced, proactive Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our NDIS and Supported Independent Living (SIL) services.Working closely with the Directors and management team, you will provide operational leadership across service delivery, workforce planning, recruitment, compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily NDIS and SIL operations, monitoring service delivery and operational performance.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and support to senior staff and operational teams while promoting an accountable, positive workplace culture.
- End-to-End Recruitment: Coordinate workforce planning, prepare and post job advertisements, shortlist candidates, and manage the onboarding process.
- Compliance & Quality: Maintain NDIS compliance, monitor operational risks, handle incident escalations/complaints, and ensure audit readiness.
- Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular operational reports for the Directors.
About You
- Sector Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience within the NDIS/disability sector, specifically including SIL experience.
- Leadership Background: Proven supervisory, senior, or management experience with a strong track record of managing disability-sector staff.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, quality frameworks, and audit protocols.
- Skills: Strong recruitment, organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Credentials: Current Australian driver’s licence, and a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
