As IT Business Development Manager – Government & Enterprise
You hold a senior IT Business Development Manager role with a proven track record selling into the government sector to drive growth across our Managed IT, cloud, telecommunications, and business technology services. This role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional who understands government procurement cycles, panel agreements, and grant-funded technology programs, and who can operate confidently in a highly competitive market.
The role is primarily focused on Managed IT Services and recurring monthly service agreements, while also selling internet, VoIP, cybersecurity, mobile, and emerging AI solutions to government and enterprise clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Generate new business opportunities within local, state, and federal government sectors through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, panel/tender participation, and partnerships.
* Identify and pursue **grant-funded and government-subsidised technology programs** relevant to Managed IT, cloud, cybersecurity, and connectivity solutions.
* Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified Managed IT and technology opportunities across government and commercial accounts.
* Develop new recurring Managed IT Services customers and monthly service agreements.
* Manage and grow existing government and enterprise customer accounts.
* Conduct customer meetings, site visits, technology reviews, and solution consultations, including engagement with procurement officers and decision-makers within government bodies.
* Understand customers' current IT infrastructure, systems, communications, compliance obligations, and business requirements.
* Identify technology risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, particularly around government compliance and security standards.
* Prepare and present proposals, quotations, tender responses, service agreements, and solution recommendations.
* Manage opportunities from initial contact through consultation, proposal, negotiation, and close — including formal tender and RFQ/RFP processes.
* Work closely with internal technical, provisioning, and support teams to ensure solutions are correctly scoped and customers are smoothly onboarded.
* Identify opportunities to consolidate multiple technology services with Expert IT & Telco.
* Maintain accurate customer, pipeline, and opportunity information within CRM systems.
* Achieve agreed monthly sales targets, recurring revenue targets, and KPIs in a competitive, high-value sales environment.
* Follow company sales processes, commercial policies, and government compliance/procurement requirements.
* Maintain strong knowledge of IT, cloud, telecommunications, government funding schemes, and emerging technology developments.
* Develop long-term relationships with government and enterprise stakeholders that generate retention, referrals, and additional service opportunities.

**Skills & Experience**
Required:
* **Minimum 10 years' sales experience selling into the government sector** (local, state, and/or federal), within an MSP, IT services, telecommunications, or technology business.
* Demonstrated success operating and winning business in a **highly competitive, tender-driven market**.
* Strong working knowledge of **government procurement processes**, panel agreements, RFQ/RFP/tender submissions, and probity requirements.
* Proven experience identifying and securing **grant-funded or government-subsidised technology initiatives**.
* Established network of contacts and relationships within government agencies or departments.
* Proven experience selling Managed IT Services and recurring monthly agreements at scale.
* Ability to independently generate, negotiate, and close complex, high-value new business.
* Deep understanding of government IT environments, compliance requirements, and security standards.
* Advanced CRM and pipeline management skills.
Experience with VoIP, internet, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions will be highly regarded.

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
