We are seeking a number of suitably experienced plant operators to assist in council’s road and street maintenance and construction programs. The successful applicants will be required to operate various plant and equipment in accordance with specified standards.
- Employee working with children check.
- A current Victorian driver licence (minimum medium rigid (MR) licence) is required.
- Experience working in a team environment and following instructions from supervisors.
- Ability to perform physical labouring tasks in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Previous experience in civil construction, road maintenance or spray sealing
- Qualification in construction, parks, gardens or transferable skills working with a council
- A heavy rigid (HR) licence
- A Construction White Card (CPCCWHS1001)
- Traffic management qualification is
- Certificates of competency in plant items e.g. roller, skid steer, tractor, FE loader, backhoe or any other plant items relevant to council operations.
- Basic experience using hand tools, small plant or equipment in a labouring, construction, farming or outdoor work environment
- Experience across either construction, farming, parks & gardens, signage and line marking maintenance.
- Intermediate written and verbal skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
