Plumbing Tradesman – Full-Time
Ferris Plumbing Group is seeking an experienced and reliable qualified Plumbing Tradesman to join our growing team.
We carry out a broad range of plumbing works across Sydney, including commercial and residential construction, ground works, drainage, fit-outs and plumbing maintenance.
We are looking for a tradesman who is confident working independently, takes pride in their workmanship, and has strong knowledge across all aspects of plumbing.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be experienced in:
Ground Works & Drainage
- Sewer and stormwater drainage installations
- Reading hydraulic and construction plans
- Setting out drainage systems, levels, grades and invert levels
- Excavation and preparation of trenches
- Installation of sewer, stormwater and water services
- Installation of pits, inspection openings, and drainage points
- Connection to existing sewer and stormwater systems
- Testing and inspection of completed drainage works
- Working around existing underground services
Construction Plumbing
- Rough-in and fit-off of residential and commercial projects
- Installation of hot and cold water services
- Sanitary plumbing and drainage
- Gas installations where appropriately licensed
- Installation of toilets, basins, sinks, showers, baths and other fixtures
- Installation of hot water systems
- Reading architectural, hydraulic and construction drawings
- Setting out plumbing services accurately from plans
- Coordinating with builders, supervisors and other trades
- Completing works in accordance with Australian Standards, NCC requirements and relevant NSW regulations
Plumbing Maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing water leaks
- Clearing blocked drains and investigating drainage issues
- Tapware and mixer repairs/replacements
- Toilet and cistern repairs
- Hot water system repairs and replacements
- Burst and leaking pipe repairs
- General residential and commercial plumbing maintenance
- Fault finding and providing practical repair solutions
- Communicating professionally with clients, tenants and property managers
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a current NSW Plumbing Licence or Certificate III in Plumbing with the appropriate qualifications
- Have strong experience in ground works, construction plumbing and maintenance
- Be capable of working independently without constant supervision
- Be confident reading plans and setting out plumbing and drainage works
- Have excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Produce neat, compliant and high-quality workmanship
- Understand relevant Australian Standards and plumbing requirements
- Have good communication and customer service skills
- Be reliable, punctual and organised
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Be willing to take responsibility for jobs from start through to completion
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence
- Hold a current White Card
Highly Regarded
Experience in the following will be highly regarded:
- Commercial plumbing and fit-outs
- Multi-unit and warehouse developments
- Civil/ground drainage
- Gas fitting
- Hot water systems
- Excavator operation
- Maintenance and fault finding
About the Role
This is a hands-on tradesman position suited to someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable moving between construction sites, ground works and maintenance jobs.
We are looking for someone who can be trusted to attend a job, assess the work required, communicate professionally with the client or site supervisor, complete the work to a high standard and represent Ferris Plumbing Group professionally.
