About the role
The Event Producer sits within the Experience Melbourne Branch and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of Melbourne Fashion Week and other major City of Melbourne events and programs. The Premier Events team delivers a portfolio that includes Melbourne Fashion Week, Now or Never, New Year’s Eve, Moomba, Firelight Festival and Christmas Festival.
With a strong focus on fashion, creative programming and operational design and delivery, this role will work closely with the Premier Events team to bring engaging event concepts and experiences to life. You’ll support the development and delivery of programming while coordinating the production, operational and stakeholder requirements needed to deliver a high-quality festival experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced event producer who understands the unique demands of major programming-led festivals and major events and enjoys working at the intersection of creative ideas, production and operational delivery.

- Contribute to the programming, production and delivery of Melbourne Fashion Week, supporting the development of engaging and high-quality event experiences.
- Coordinate event production and operations including venues, logistics, suppliers, contractors, resources and on-site delivery.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to bring creative concepts and event programs from planning through to delivery.
- Manage competing priorities, risk, compliance and operational requirements to ensure events are delivered safely, effectively and to a high standard

About you
You are a creative and experienced event professional with a strong understanding of fashion, festivals or other programming-led major events. You’re comfortable working in an environment where creative programming needs to be balanced with the practicalities of production, logistics, stakeholder management and live event delivery.
You thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and bring strong organisation, judgement and attention to detail.
What your experience might look like
- A tertiary qualification in event management and/or demonstrated experience in major event and festival production, ideally within a fashion, creative or programming-led environment.
- Demonstrated experience working within a programming-led festival environment, with a strong understanding of how creative programming and event operations come together.
- Strong event production and operational experience across logistics, venue and site planning, contractors, risk management, staffing and live event delivery.
- Well-developed project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across internal teams, external partners and suppliers.
