Brisbane | $25.48–$33.96 per hour | Primarily school holiday work
Love sport? Enjoy working with kids? Want a job that's actually fun?
Q Kids Sport is looking for Brisbane-based, energetic and reliable Multi-Sport Coaches to join our team delivering fun, active experiences for primary-aged children across Brisbane.
⭐ IMPORTANT: THIS IS PRIMARILY SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORK

We are particularly looking for coaches who are available during:
- September/October 2026 school holidays
- December 2026/January 2027 school holidays
- Future Queensland school holiday periods
There are also opportunities for school and OSHC programs during school terms, but school holiday availability is the most important requirement for this role.
What is Q Kids Sport?
Q Kids Sport delivers high-energy sports and active-play experiences for primary-aged children through schools and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services.
We're not your traditional sports coaching business. We combine traditional sports with unique games and experiences designed to keep kids active, engaged and having fun.
You could be running:
- NERF Wars
- Gaga Ball
- 9 Square in the Air
- Splash Zone
- Water Tag
- Active Escape
- Basketball
- AFL
- Soccer
- Dodgeball and other games
- Super Sport and multi-sport activities
- Other fun and innovative games and challenges
You don't need to know how to run all of these activities. We'll train you in our programs, equipment and session structure.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Q Kids Sport Coach, you'll be responsible for:
- Leading groups of primary-aged children through sports and active games.
- Creating a fun, energetic and positive environment.
- Keeping children engaged and actively participating.
- Managing groups and behaviour effectively.
- Setting up and packing down equipment.
- Following session plans and adapting activities when required.
- Representing Q Kids Sport professionally when working with schools and OSHC services.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participating children.
You'll often be working with groups of approximately 15–20 children, so confidence communicating with a group is important.
Why Work With Q Kids Sport?
This is more than just a casual job for people who love sport.
You'll develop practical skills in:
- Leadership
- Communication
- Behaviour management
- Group management
- Coaching and instruction
- Adapting activities for different ages and abilities
- Creating engaging and inclusive experiences
- Working independently and as part of a team
The role is particularly suited to HPE, Education, Sport and Exercise Science students, but we're also interested in experienced coaches, athletes, recent school leavers and anyone who has the right personality and enjoys working with children.
Several of our previous university coaches have gone on to become primary and secondary HPE teachers. Many have told us that their experience with Q Kids Sport helped them develop confidence, behaviour management and practical skills that were valuable during university placements and when entering the teaching profession.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for people who are:
- Energetic and enthusiastic.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Confident leading groups of children.
- Comfortable being active and getting involved.
- Good communicators.
- Positive and professional.
- Quick learners who are willing to give new activities a go.
- Comfortable working independently once trained.
- Passionate about sport, physical activity and working with children.
Experience coaching or working with children is highly regarded, but we're more interested in your attitude, reliability and ability to engage kids than having a long list of qualifications.
Requirements
- Current Paid Blue Card, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one.
- Reliable access to your own vehicle for travelling to different schools and OSHC services around Brisbane.
- Availability during Queensland school holiday periods, particularly September/October and December/January.
- Full Australian working rights for the duration of employment.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- First Aid/CPR is highly regarded.
Availability & location
This role is best suited to applicants who are already established in Brisbane and are looking for ongoing casual work with Q Kids Sport.
We are looking for people who can commit to future school holiday periods rather than applicants seeking only a short-term position.
Pay
$25.48–$33.96 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
