What your day could look like
As a Mental Health Worker, you'll help older people access compassionate, person-centred mental health care close to home. Working with consumers, families and a multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to recovery, wellbeing and improved quality of life across the community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Delivering evidence-based assessments, interventions and care planning that support positive outcomes.
Building trusted partnerships with consumers, carers and service providers to coordinate holistic care.
Supporting quality improvement initiatives that strengthen service delivery and patient experience.
Sharing knowledge, mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture.
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who combines clinical capability with genuine compassion. You communicate with empathy, make sound decisions, and work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for older people. You'll take pride in helping individuals and families navigate complex challenges while creating meaningful change in their lives. You're driven by purpose, value respectful relationships, and bring the courage to embrace new ideas and opportunities for growth.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Relevant professional registration or eligibility within your discipline.
Experience delivering mental health assessment, intervention and case management services.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills in multidisciplinary environments.
A commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning and service improvement.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate mental health qualifications and/or experience supporting older people in community or rural settings.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of older people, committed to person-centred mental health care, and excited by the opportunity to build a rewarding regional career with access to rural accommodation incentives and a supportive team environment.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage to every interaction.
