About ONESOLOMON
We manufacture and install blinds, shutters, awnings, and security screens. Everything we sell, we make here in Brisbane. Everything we make, we install ourselves. We've been doing it this way since 1987.
The role
This is a process and quality role, so you'll be improving the way the team works, not just supporting them day-to-day.
You'll own the install process end-to-end: how jobs are prepared, how fitters are trained, how quality is measured, and how we fix things when they go wrong. You'll standardise what should be standard, document what needs to be documented, and find the inefficiencies before they become problems.
We're very open to hiring someone with a strong process and trade background from outside the window furnishing industry.... So, if you've worked in kitchens, patios and decks, building products, or any installation-based trade where quality and repeatability matter — we want to hear from you.
What you'll do
Process standardisation
- Map the end-to-end installation process and identify inefficiencies
- Develop and document standard installation methods across our full product range
- Build and maintain a library of installation manuals for our own-brand products
- Standardise van setup, toolkits, and on-site procedure so every fitter operates the same way
Training and onboarding
- Build and maintain onboarding frameworks for new install team members
- Coordinate secondments and on-site learning for TA-level fitters
- Work with experienced fitters to capture knowledge and build it into training materials
- Run toolbox sessions and keep them structured and useful
Quality oversight
- Develop a quality inspection framework for completed installs
- Conduct periodic site audits and post-install checks
- Own the NCR (non-conformance) process — identify patterns, not just individual failures
- Work with the installers on complex job preparation and risk identification
Continuous improvement
- Drive a regular cadence of process review across the install team
- Identify and propose tooling, equipment, or workflow changes that improve output
- Track install team efficiency metrics and identify where time is being lost
- Manage scaffold and high-access coordination protocol — photos, requirements, admin
What we're looking for
You think in systems. You look at how something is done and see how it could be done better. You're comfortable on tools (you don't need to be a blinds expert on day one, but you need to understand trade work well enough to learn the product quickly) and can earn the respect of the people doing it.
Experience
- Background in an installation, fit-out, or trade service business — window furnishings, kitchens, patios and decks, building products, or similar
- Demonstrated experience in process documentation, standardisation, or operational improvement
- Experience building or delivering trade training programs is highly regarded
- Exposure to quality systems, NCR processes, or site inspection frameworks
Skills and attributes
- Strong written and verbal communication — you can write a clear manual and explain it clearly to an installer or office team
- Analytical and structured — you can see a problem, map it, and fix it
- Hands-on and credible in a trade environment — you've been on site, you know how it works
- Self-directed — you can be handed a problem and come back with a plan
- Patient with people, impatient with process gaps
- Clean driver's licence
What's on offer
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Company vehicle
- A genuine growth pathway — this role can evolve into broader operational leadership as the business grows
- A business that actually makes things — you'll work directly with the people who manufacture the product and the people who install it
- Autonomy — we'll give you the problem and trust you to solve it
