Chef de Partie – Sella Vinoteca
Sella Vinoteca is a modern Italian restaurant with a strong focus on the flavours and traditions of Sardinia, the home region of our Founder & Executive Chef.
We celebrate authentic Sardinian cuisine by showcasing traditional ingredients, cooking techniques and handmade pasta, while creating a dining experience suited to our mature Australian clientele.
Our kitchen is built around quality, consistency and respect for ingredients, with a strong focus on handmade pasta, seafood and contemporary Italian dishes.
We are currently looking for an experienced Chef de Partie/Demi Chef de Partie to join our team and work closely with the Executive Chef in delivering high-quality food and maintaining the standards of Sella Vinoteca.
About the role
As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your own section during service while supporting the daily operations of the kitchen.
Working alongside an experienced culinary team, you will play an important role in ensuring consistency, quality and efficiency across all services.
What we are looking for
Previous experience in a quality restaurant environment is essential
We are also happy to consider a motivated Demi Chef de Partie who is ready to challenge themselves in a new position, take on greater responsibility and continue developing their skills within a quality Italian kitchen.
- Experience running your own section, including grill and pans
- Strong passion for quality food and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Positive attitude, reliability and willingness to continue learning
- Knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine
- Experience with handmade pasta, seafood or modern Italian cuisine will be highly regarded
Roster & Availability
Sella Vinoteca operates 6 dinner services per week (closed Mondays), with additional lunch service on Saturdays and Sundays.
This is a full-time position based on a 5-day roster, with:
Mondays always scheduled as a day off
A second rotating day off between Tuesday and Wednesday
Full availability is required, including evenings and weekends. Weekend availability is essential due to our service schedule.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Sella Vinoteca is an accredited business for Australian sponsorship.
We currently have a recently approved permanent visa sponsorship in place, with another sponsorship application currently underway.
For the right candidate who demonstrates commitment, strong performance and becomes an integral part of our team, we are open to discussing potential future sponsorship opportunities after a successful 12-month period, subject to eligibility requirements and business needs.
Start date: End of September / early October preferred.
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 + Superannuation
