Pleasure Club is not your average bar.
Hidden just below street level in Newtown, Pleasure Club is a psychedelic subterranean cocktail bar, live music venue and late-night playground with one of Sydney's most unique atmospheres — and a coveted 4:00am licence.
From live bands and DJs to performance art, cocktails, late-night dining and everything that happens after dark, Pleasure Club is built around energy, experience and a little bit of chaos — the good kind.
We're now looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead the next chapter of Pleasure Club.
The Role
We're looking for a hands-on, confident and highly organised hospitality leader who can take ownership of a busy late-night venue and lead from the floor.
This role is about much more than managing a roster or closing the venue at the end of the night. You'll be responsible for building a strong team, creating the right culture, driving exceptional service and making sure every night runs smoothly — even when things get busy.
You'll work closely with the wider Odd Culture Group leadership team while taking real ownership of the day-to-day operation of Pleasure Club.
What you'll do
- Lead busy late-night services with confidence, energy and a calm head.
- Build, coach and develop a strong bar and floor team.
- Create a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Take ownership of daily venue operations, including service flow, rostering, labour and operational standards.
- Drive exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.
- Work closely with the beverage, events and wider group leadership teams.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding and development within your team.
- Oversee licensing, RSA compliance and responsible service practices.
- Be hands-on and highly visible during service.
- Help deliver the unique atmosphere, entertainment and experience that makes Pleasure Club what it is.
We're looking for someone who
- Has previous Venue Manager or strong Assistant Venue Manager experience.
- Has worked in busy bars, late-night venues, cocktail venues or high-volume hospitality environments.
- Is confident managing teams during high-energy and fast-paced services.
- Understands bar operations and ideally has a strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits and beverage service.
- Is highly organised and operationally strong behind the scenes.
- Can lead from the front while remaining calm under pressure.
- Knows how to balance strong systems and standards with personality and creativity.
- Has a genuine passion for hospitality, bars, music and late-night culture.
- Is comfortable working nights, weekends and late finishes.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $97,000.00 per year
