About the Role
Ethnolink is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Team Lead to administer externally commissioned, multidisciplinary projects with defined objectives, scopes, budgets, timeframes and deliverables.
You will oversee projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, evaluation and closure. The role involves coordinating internal teams, external contractors, government departments, clients, community representatives, creative teams and technical specialists to deliver agreed project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multidisciplinary consulting, communication, engagement and translation projects within agreed scope, budget and timeframes.
- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones and reporting requirements in consultation with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans and risk-management strategies.
- Coordinate consultations and engagement with government departments, clients, community representatives, creative teams, technical specialists and other project stakeholders.
- Select, onboard and coordinate contractors and specialist project resources.
- Monitor project progress, expenditure, milestones, risks, issues and contractor performance, implementing corrective action where required.
- Manage and document approved variations to project scope, deliverables, schedules, costs and resources.
- Coordinate quality-management processes and ensure compliance with client requirements and relevant standards, including ISO 17100 and ISO 18587.
- Prepare project progress, budget, risk, outcome and completion reports and advise senior management on matters requiring attention.
- Complete project evaluation and closure activities, including documenting project outcomes, challenges and lessons learned.
- Provide guidance and operational support to project team members and promote consistent project-management practices across the team.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least two years of relevant experience in a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or Project Manager role.
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- A qualification in Linguistics, Translation and/or Interpreting is preferred due to the multilingual and cross-cultural nature of Ethnolink’s projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks and stakeholder requirements.
- Strong stakeholder-engagement, communication, problem-solving and team-leadership skills.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate project and financial records.
- Experience with project-management tools and systems. Familiarity with Gantt charts, Smartcat or comparable platforms will be well regarded.
- An understanding of and commitment to cultural diversity and inclusive communication.
- Ability to speak a language other than English is desirable.
Salary
A$83,000–A$88,000 plus superannuation per year
