The Contract Logistics Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring stock reconciliation across assigned customer accounts.
Working closely with warehouse operations, customers and internal stakeholders, you'll monitor inventory performance, investigate discrepancies and drive improvements that protect stock accuracy and reduce operational risk.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving operational problems and making sure the details are right.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily inventory activities and ensure stock records remain accurate and up to date.
- Support the training and development of colleagues on inventory management processes and requirements.
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly inventory reports in line with standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate inventory claims, returns and damaged goods processes.
- Identify trends and implement measures to reduce stock damage and inventory discrepancies.
- Investigate inventory issues using root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Coordinate and complete cycle counts and stocktakes in line with customer requirements and Kuehne+Nagel guidelines.
- Monitor inventory KPIs and proactively identify potential issues before they impact customers or operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory documentation and ensure all processes are followed consistently.
- Work closely with warehouse teams, customers and other stakeholders to resolve inventory related issues.
- Ensure inventory activities comply with relevant QSHE, Dangerous Goods, licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across inventory processes, accuracy and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, supply chain or a related logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation and warehouse processes.
- Experience conducting cycle counts, stocktakes and inventory investigations.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience using root cause analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with warehouse and customer teams.
- Comfortable working with inventory systems, WMS and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of QSHE, Dangerous Goods and warehouse compliance requirements is advantageous.
- A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
