Primary objective
Provide financial and operational coordination and advice for the NT Health Capital Equipment Program. Ensure procurement of
capital equipment aligns with the NT Government Procurement Framework and relevant legislation. Support clinical areas with
project-specific procurement planning, scope development, and contract management.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Coordinate and manage the NT Health Capital Equipment Program, including maintaining the Capital Equipment Master List
for asset management and replacement planning.
2. Develop and implement strategies for timely and effective delivery of capital equipment within a complex procurement
environment.
3. Lead the development of procurement plans, specifications, risk management strategies, and assessment recommendations
ensuring compliance with NTG Procurement Framework.
4. Administer contracts to ensure performance and compliance with legislation and agency policies.
5. Provide specialist advice and education to internal and external stakeholders on procurement, contract management, and
disposal of capital equipment.
6. Draft high-level correspondence, reports, and briefs with attention to detail.
7. Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and NTPS agencies to achieve
program objectives.
8. Ensure accurate electronic record-keeping and compliance with security classifications.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Knowledge of NTG Procurement Framework, relevant legislation, and demonstrated ability to apply these in practice.
2. Proven experience in contract management, including probity and ethics in medical equipment procurement.
3. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to manage complex procurement issues.
4. High-level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and briefs for diverse audiences.
5. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and deliver outcomes in a high-pressure environment.
6. Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and communicate across cultural and professional boundaries.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant IT systems.
Desirable
1. Diploma in Project Management or Certificate IV in Contract Management.
