What you’ll do:
We are looking for a safety-focused and collaborative Electrical Instrumentation Technician/Specialist to join our Curtis Island Maintenance Team at GLNG. In this role, you'll deliver reliable electrical and instrumentation maintenance, ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of our facilities. You'll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting apprentices and contractors, and stepping into leading hand or supervisory responsibilities during planned maintenance campaigns and shutdowns.
This is a 7 on / 7 off day shift role. Nightshift expectations during outages & shutdowns.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide technical expertise to support safe, reliable and effective electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.

Maintain compliance with Santos Management System (SMS), corporate governance, safety requirements and Queensland electrical regulations.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve maintenance practices, equipment reliability and cost efficiency.

Contribute maintenance expertise to engineering to support asset reliability and maintenance strategies.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to achieve production and maintenance objectives.

Mentor apprentices and share technical knowledge to build team capability and support competency development.

Complete permits, isolations and maintenance documentation in accordance with Santos standards and regulatory requirements.

Actively promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reporting incidents and participating in safety initiatives and investigations.
What you’ll bring:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Instrumentation Technician/Specialist with a strong background in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within LNG or other major hazard facilities. You will have a strong commitment to safety, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to work collaboratively to deliver safe, reliable and efficient maintenance outcomes. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

Extensive experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, with proven fault-finding, testing, calibration and commissioning capabilities.

Current Queensland Electrical Licence, Certificate III in Instrumentation & Control, Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas (Electrical), and High Voltage Switching Operations (HVSO) qualification.

Experience maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems in LNG or other major hazard facilities, including exposure to gas turbines and high voltage equipment.

Experience using SAP, Electronic Permit Systems and maintenance management processes to support safe and efficient work execution.

The ability to lead maintenance activities, supervise contractors or teams, and coordinate work during shutdowns and maintenance campaigns.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across operations, maintenance and engineering teams.

A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, safety and delivering high-quality maintenance outcomes.
