About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team. The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles and equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults in heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment.
- Inspect engines, transmissions, steering, braking and suspension systems.
- Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
- Test repaired vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant trade qualification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or equivalent.
- At least two years' relevant post-qualification experience (preferred).
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver's licence.
