About the Position
Workday serves as WEHI’s enterprise platform for managing finance, procurement, and people-related processes.
The Workday Finance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Finance and Procurement functions across the Workday Finance and Adaptive Planning ecosystem. This includes modules such as Core Finance, Financial Accounting, Budgets, Expenses, Projects and Project Billing, Customer Accounts and Contracts, Business Assets, Banking and Settlement, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Adaptive Planning.
Reporting to the Senior ERP Program Manager, the Workday Finance Specialist will work closely with Finance, Procurement, and other key stakeholders across WEHI. The role forms part of a collaborative team of Workday specialists, including a Workday People & Culture Specialist and a Workday Integrations Specialist, and works in partnership with an external Workday implementation and support provider that delivers additional expertise, troubleshooting, and remediation services to support ongoing system performance and enhancement.
Selection Criteria
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience (minimum 3+ years) in finance, systems accounting, procurement, or a similar field
Intermediate Workday Financial application knowledge (ie. understanding/updating system configurations, relationships with business processes, technical application, report creation/generation)
Effective stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build trusted relationships, understand user needs, and manage expectations

Terms of Appointment
This position is fixed term until December 2027 in a full-time capacity. Salary negotiable depending on experience, plus 12% superannuation payable, plus up to a further 5% after the first 6 months of service via our matching superannuation scheme.
