CMI Toyota has a reputation for running one of the best apprenticeship programs for aspiring Automotive Technicians/Mechanics. Whilst we’re not hiring just yet for next year’s program, we know that great people don’t always wait for job ads! That’s why we invite you to express your interest in our 2027 Apprenticeship program across any of our four locations – West Terrace, Cheltenham, Christies Beach and Stepney.
As an Apprentice with CMI Toyota, you’ll start and specialise your career in the industry being trained in the Toyota product. Here you’ll receive exclusive training at our in-house state-of-the-art training centre, located at our modern dealership on West Terrace in the city, with additional on-the-job training also provided at your home dealership.

What you’ll be doing
If selected as a 2027 Apprentice Technician, you’ll be:
- Completing your apprenticeship as an automotive technician with an industry leader
- Learning the principles of service, repair and maintenance for a variety of vehicles
- Training on manufacturer, customer service and CMI Toyota standards
- Understanding how to provide the highest level of workmanship
Most importantly, you’ll be joining a broader workshop team where quality, safety and teamwork matter.
What you can expect
Working in a CMI Toyota workshop, you can expect:
- Daily support from experienced colleagues and leaders
- A clean, well-equipped workshop designed for safety and productivity
- Set hours with predictable rosters
- Overtime opportunities available if you want them
About you
To help you start your successful career in the automotive industry, you’ll:
- Have completed at least Year 11 and/or a Cert II in Automotive Servicing Technology
- Possess a good mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning more
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrate a friendly, positive, and can-do attitude
- Be in possession of a current licence (essential)
