About the role
As Course Coordinator you provide the academic leadership of the Bachelor of Nursing, working under the Head of School (Nursing), who is IHM's head of nursing discipline for the purposes of the ANMAC Registered Nurse Accreditation Standards 2019.
You will lead course design, delivery, monitoring and review; lead assessment moderation and the Board of Examiners cycle; drive and maintain ANMAC accreditation; and ensure that professional experience placement is safe, high in quality and fully compliant. You will work closely with the lecturer team, the National Placement Coordinator, the Clinical Simulation Officer, the Registrar and the Quality Assurance team, and you will be a visible mentor to academic staff and a champion of cultural safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership and overall coordination of the Bachelor of Nursing across all campuses and delivery modes, ensuring consistent curriculum, assessment and student experience.
- Lead and support the Course Team, Course Advisory Committee and academic staff, including mentoring academic, sessional and clinical teaching staff.
- Lead and maintain ANMAC accreditation, NMBA approval and compliance with relevant regulatory and quality frameworks.
- Oversee curriculum development, review and mapping, ensuring integration of cultural safety, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, evidence-based practice, digital health and interprofessional learning.
- Lead assessment design, moderation, grade review, results governance and external benchmarking.
- Oversee professional experience placement requirements in partnership with the National Placement Coordinator, ensuring quality, safety and compliance across placement environments.
- Drive course monitoring, review and continuous improvement through analysis of student progression, attrition, completion, feedback and graduate outcomes.
- Promote student success, wellbeing, inclusion and academic support, including early identification and support for students at risk.
- Maintain active scholarship and professional currency, contribute to teaching, and represent IHM with regulatory bodies, industry partners and professional stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
- Master's degree (AQF Level 9) in Nursing or a closely related discipline.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), with demonstrated clinical currency.
- Minimum five years' post-registration clinical nursing experience.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or supporting the coordination of an accredited nursing or health course in higher education, including academic staff leadership.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of ANMAC Registered Nurse Accreditation Standards, NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, AQF and Higher Education Standards Framework requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in higher education curriculum, assessment, moderation and results governance.
- Contemporary higher education teaching experience and evidence of ongoing scholarship, research or professional practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement and team development skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Doctoral qualification or active doctoral candidature.
- Qualification in higher education or tertiary teaching.
- Experience leading ANMAC, TEQSA or other accreditation submissions.
- Experience coordinating professional experience placements, simulation-based learning and online or blended delivery.
- Experience supporting multi-campus delivery or regional and rural health workforce pathways.

Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
