The opportunity
The Senior Assets and Information Systems Officer plays a key role in managing and continuously improving Council’s asset management system, ensuring accurate asset data, effective lifecycle management, compliance reporting, and informed decision making. Working across multiple service areas, this position provides specialist expertise in asset registers, valuations, maintenance, predictive modelling, reporting, and system governance to support Council’s long term infrastructure planning and operational objectives.
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage Council’s asset management system, including asset registers, maintenance, valuations and lifecycle planning
- Develop and maintain accurate asset data, spatial asset information and asset condition reporting
- Drive predictive asset modelling and long term infrastructure planning to inform future budgets and renewal programs
- Coordinate asset valuation processes and provide specialist advice to Finance, auditors and key stakeholders
- Identify and implement system improvements, manage user access, and provide training and technical support to staff
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management, Geospatial Science or a related discipline
- Experience with asset management system CONFIRM highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience managing asset management systems within local government or a large organisation
- Extensive knowledge of asset management principles, asset registers, valuations, capitalisation and maintenance processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and provide technical guidance within a collaborative team environment
