Peabody is seeking an experienced CHPP Mechanical Coordinator to join our team at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.
Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will be responsible for all scoping, planning, execution and reporting of mechanical maintenance and engineering project work across the Centurion Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP). This is a key leadership role focused on enhancing plant reliability, driving maintenance performance and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the CHPP.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors during maintenance days and major shutdowns.
- Scope, schedule, execute and report on maintenance and project work to ensure completion against planned schedules.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to achieve targeted plant reliability, availability and statutory compliance outcomes.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to CHPP Technicians and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with site safety standards, statutory obligations and the Mechanical Engineering Management Plan.
- Manage maintenance activities in line with approved operating budgets.
- Identify, lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance.
- Support effective maintenance planning and shutdown execution to minimise plant downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance effectiveness to maximise asset reliability.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, legislative requirements and Peabody standards.
You are a safety-focused maintenance leader with strong CHPP experience and a passion for plant reliability, continuous improvement and team development.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Mechanical trade qualification or Engineering degree.
- Minimum three years' experience in a similar maintenance coordination or leadership role within a CHPP environment.
- Strong knowledge of coal processing operations and the key performance drivers of a CHPP.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating shutdowns, contractors and maintenance activities.
- A proven commitment to safety and the ability to foster a positive safety culture.
- Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 and G2).
- Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using SAP or similar computerised maintenance management systems.
- Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A collaborative and team-focused approach with strong communication skills.
- 9-day fortnight roster (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday).
