Customer Service Officer - Latrobe Regional Gallery

We're looking for Customer Service Officers to join the team at Latrobe Regional Gallery in a Casual capacity.
In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of one of Gippsland's leading cultural destinations, helping visitors connect with exhibitions, programs and events while supporting the day-to-day operations of the Gallery.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who is looking to build their experience in a cultural venue, visitor services environment, or local government setting. You'll gain exposure to gallery operations, retail management, administration, community engagement and event support, while working alongside a passionate team that is committed to providing outstanding visitor experiences.

What You’ll be Doing
- Creating a welcoming and engaging experience for Gallery visitors, artists and community members
- Managing front-of-house operations including reception, visitor enquiries and customer support
- Delivering guided tours of the exhibitions each season,
- Assisting with public program set up and delivery,
- Supporting the Gallery retail shop, including sales, merchandising and point-of-sale transactions
- Assisting with visitor data collection, reporting and administrative activities that support Gallery operations
- Helping maintain a professional, welcoming and well-presented Gallery environment
- Working collaboratively with the Gallery team to support exhibitions, programs and events
About You
You are a friendly and energetic customer service professional who enjoys working with people and creating positive experiences. You thrive in a team environment, have excellent communication skills and take pride in providing helpful and personalised service.
You bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence using computer systems. Whether your background is in customer service, retail, hospitality, tourism, arts or another visitor-focused environment, you'll be passionate about connecting with people and contributing to a vibrant community venue.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service and creating memorable visitor or customer experiences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently respond to enquiries and build positive relationships
- Well-developed administrative, computer and organisational skills, including the ability to learn new systems and manage a variety of tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with cash handling
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and contribute to a professional, welcoming environment
