Mackay Regional Council is seeking a temporary part-time Asset Information Officer to help maintain accurate asset data and support better asset management decisions across Council. This 12-month job share opportunity offers 14.5 hours per week on Thursday and Friday and is ideal for someone with strong data, database and administrative skills who enjoys working with stakeholders and improving information quality.
About this opportunity:
As an Asset Information Officer, you will support Mackay Regional Council’s Asset Management Program by maintaining accurate asset data, improving information quality and supporting effective asset management activities. Working with internal stakeholders, you will help strengthen maintenance functionality across project asset management teams, contribute to Council’s asset management maturity, and provide support to other business streams and the Executive Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and assess asset handover information from a range of sources.
- Record and maintain asset attribute data within required timeframes using relevant systems.
- Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to support project and program outcomes.
- Support project delivery in line with agreed project plans.
- Contribute to work practices and procedures related to the Asset Information Management System, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Provide accurate asset information to teams across Council.
- Assist with the development of asset management plans, procedures and corporate documents to support system efficiency.
- Undertake other responsibilities as directed.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Sound experience applying asset management and asset information management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly intermediate Excel skills.
- Competence using databases to store, analyse and assess asset management information.
- Strong time management skills, including prioritising work, scheduling resources and staying organised.
Highly regarded
- Queensland “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Experience reading and interpreting infrastructure drawings and plans.
- Experience in a similar role within Business, Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Asset Management or a related field.
