We are a boutique foodservice and distribution business supplying premium and specialty food products to restaurants, cafés, hotels, caterers and food businesses across Sydney, the Southern Highlands, South Coast and surrounding regions.
We are a growing, hands-on team that takes pride in great products, great service and doing things properly. We're looking for a reliable, energetic team member to join our operations team for an initial 3-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for ongoing employment.
About the Role
This is more than just a delivery driving role.
You will play an important part in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately, on time and in excellent condition, while also supporting our warehouse team with picking, packing and preparing orders.
You'll be out on the road delivering to our customers across established routes, while also becoming an integral part of our warehouse operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering customer orders safely, accurately and on time across established delivery routes
- Loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring products are handled carefully
- Checking orders prior to departure and maintaining accurate delivery records
- Providing friendly, professional service and representing Wholesome Food Works positively with every customer
- Communicating any delivery issues, discrepancies or delays promptly
- Picking and packing customer orders
- Palletising and preparing orders during busy periods
- Assisting with receiving, storing and moving stock
- Working closely with the warehouse and operations team to ensure orders are correct and ready for dispatch
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse and delivery vehicle
- Following food handling, workplace health and safety and manual handling procedures
- Entering relevant delivery and warehouse information into our systems
- Supporting the wider operations team wherever required
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised and takes pride in doing a great job.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in foodservice delivery and warehouse roles preferred
- Experience driving a van or light truck
- A current full Australian driver's licence and an excellent driving record
- Excellent knowledge of Sydney roads and suburbs
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail; getting the right product to the right customer matters
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get involved
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to safely lift and move food products and undertake physical warehouse duties
- An understanding of workplace health and safety and safe manual handling practices
- The ability to work independently while being a strong team player
Experience working within foodservice, food distribution or a warehouse environment will be highly regarded.
