Part-Time Cook
The Bungalow Petersham is looking for an experienced and reliable Part-Time Cook to join our small kitchen team.
This is a hands-on, all-round kitchen role working alongside our main chef. You’ll assist with prep and service while also helping with cleaning, dishwashing and general kitchen duties.
As a small venue, everyone contributes, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to get involved wherever needed.
Required Availability
- Wednesday: 4:30pm–9:00pm
- Friday: 4:30pm–9:30pm
- Saturday: 10:00am–2:30pm & 4:30pm–9:30pm
- Sunday: 10:00am–3pm
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and mise en place
- Cooking and plating dishes during service
- Supporting the main chef throughout service
- Managing a section independently when required
- Following recipes, portioning and presentation standards
- Dishwashing and maintaining the wash-up area
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, benches and work areas
- General kitchen and end-of-shift cleaning
- Receiving and storing deliveries when required
- Stock rotation and minimising food waste
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- General kitchen duties as required
About You
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen
- Confident with basic food preparation and cooking
- Able to work efficiently during service
- Clean, organised and reliable
- Comfortable with all aspects of kitchen work, including dishwashing and cleaning
- Able to work well within a small team
- Valid Australian working rights
