The Opportunity:
We are seeking a proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Officer to oversee and implement our quality management systems. The successful candidate will support the Compliance Director with ensuring that all our products consistently meet our high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with Australian food regulations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with an understanding of food safety principles and a passion for the baking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan, coordinate and maintain quality assurance systems, policies, procedures and certification processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards and organisational requirements.
· Conduct and coordinate quality audits and inspections, reviewing processes, data and documentation to identify risks, variations and non-compliance.
· Develop and monitor corrective and preventive actions, investigate quality issues and recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
· Monitor quality performance, prepare reports for management and maintain accurate quality and compliance records.
· Liaise with management, employees, suppliers, auditors and other stakeholders regarding quality and compliance matters.
· Provide guidance and training on quality standards, procedures and quality management systems, supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:
· Bachelor's degree or higher qualification
- Minimum 1 year of full-time relevant industry experience (or equivalent part-time experience)
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality management systems, auditing, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse quality data, identify non-conformances and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements and certification frameworks.
- Experience developing and implementing quality systems and procedures and conducting audits and inspections.
- Experience managing non-conformances, quality issues and certification processes, as well as supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Experience preparing quality reports and documentation and working effectively with management, employees and external stakeholders.
