About the Role
The Role – Full Time based at our Epping Head Office.
We're looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Home Care Billing & Claims Officer to join our Revenue & Billing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex financial processes, thrives on accuracy, and wants their work to contribute directly to meaningful outcomes for clients and their families.
Reporting to the Revenue & Billing Team, you will manage billing, claims processing and client account administration, ensuring compliance with government funding requirements and organisational standards.
You'll collaborate with Home Care teams, Finance, Rostering and Systems teams while liaising externally with Services Australia, healthcare providers, contractors and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue, Claims & Funding Management

Manage Medicare claiming through the Services Australia portal

Prepare and upload claim files and complete refund reviews within required timeframes

Process client movements, supplements and budget adjustments

Review travel fees and funding allocations

Investigate and resolve claim rejections, payment variances and anomalies
Billing & Financial Administration

Prepare and issue invoices and statements for private and brokerage clients

Maintain accurate client records and financial data in AlayaCare
-
Process termination refunds and exit payments in accordance with legislation

Support annual fee updates and system enhancements

Assist with account reconciliations and revenue reporting
Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with aged care funding requirements and organisational policies

Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain billing accuracy

Support internal and external audit activities

Identify risks, errors and opportunities for process improvement
Client & Stakeholder Support

Respond to billing and account enquiries with professionalism and empathy

Assist Service Advisors with budget and fee-related enquiries

Participate in debtor management activities

Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders during process changes
About You
You’re someone who enjoys accuracy, problem-solving and working collaboratively. You can manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and confidently communicate financial information to a range of stakeholders.

Education and Experience

Minimum 2 years in finance, billing, or claims processing

Experience with client budgets and reconciliations

Exposure to aged care, health, or government-funded environments (Desirable)

TAFE or tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Business (Desirable)
Skills and Capability

Knowledge of Support at Home funding or willingness to learn quickly

Understanding of claims processes and Medicare portals

Intermediate Excel and ability to learn new systems (AlayaCare, Epicor)

Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
