Know your plants? Comfortable working through a plant list? Looking for a horticulture role where your weekends are actually weekends?
We’re looking for someone with nursery, horticulture or landscaping experience to join our Plant Quotes team.
You don’t need to have worked as an Estimator before. If you’ve got good plant knowledge, are comfortable with customers and computers, and enjoy solving problems, we can help you learn the quoting side.
Monday to Friday | 38 hours per week | No weekend roster
What is a Plant Quotes Estimator?
Our Plant Quotes team works with landscapers, builders, councils and commercial customers to turn their plant schedules and lists into quotes, orders and solutions.
One minute you might be quoting a small plant list for a local landscaper; the next you could be helping source thousands of plants for a major commercial project.
Your role will include:
- Preparing plant quotes and estimates
- Reading plant schedules and customer plant lists
- Sourcing plants from our own nurseries and supplier network
- Finding suitable alternatives when plants aren't available
- Talking with customers and suppliers
- Following quotes through to orders
- Coordinating plant availability and stock
- Occasionally heading into the nursery to check plants and availability
Who are we looking for?
This could be a great next step for someone currently working in a nursery, garden centre, wholesale nursery, landscape supply business or elsewhere in the horticulture industry who wants to use their plant knowledge in a different way.
You’ll need a good level of horticultural knowledge, confidence using computers, strong communication skills and the ability to stay organised while managing multiple enquiries.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who knows plants, enjoys helping customers, likes solving problems and wants to keep learning.
You don’t need to know every botanical name ever invented, and you certainly don’t need to have had “Estimator” in your job title before.
You already know plants. We can teach you the quoting side.
Forklift and/or loader licences are a bonus, but they’re not essential.
