Reporting to the Head of Architecture, the Enterprise Architect is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and governing the organisation's enterprise architecture capability to support business transformation, technology optimisation, and long-term strategic outcomes.
Acting as a trusted advisor to enterprise leaders, delivery teams, and business stakeholders, the role drives alignment between business priorities and technology investments, provides enterprise-wide architectural direction, and leads governance practices that enable effective decision-making. As the second-in-command to the Head of Architecture, the Enterprise Architect also plays a key leadership role within the Architecture function, fostering capability development, continuous improvement, and a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise architecture strategy and technology roadmaps.
- Chair the Architecture Design Authority (ADA).
- Guide business and technology transformation initiatives.
- Align technology investments with strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain architecture standards and governance.
- Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams.
- Promote the value and adoption of Enterprise Architecture.
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Coach and mentor architects and key stakeholders.
- Support and lead the Architecture team as 2IC.
- Build strong relationships across business and technology teams.
- Manage architecture risks, budgets, reporting, and operations.
- Drive continuous improvement across architecture practices.
- Collaborate with architecture specialists and engineering teams.
About You:
- Degree qualified in IT, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture and technology strategy.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and modern technology ecosystems.
- Experience delivering within project and product-based environments.
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of architecture governance and frameworks.
- Experience leading transformation and business change initiatives.
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
- Commercially astute with sound financial and risk management knowledge.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
