About the Role

Zinfra is seeking a Gas Service Technician to support gas networks and facilities across the ACT and Nowra region. This is a hands-on, field-based role where you'll work independently to inspect, maintain and troubleshoot critical gas infrastructure that helps keep homes, businesses and communities connected.
No gas industry experience? No problem. If you're a qualified plumber, we'll provide the training and support needed to help you transition into the utilities industry.

Key Responsibilities Include

Perform planned and reactive maintenance across gas networks and facilities

Diagnose faults and implement practical solutions to maintain network reliability

Conduct inspections and identify defects within gas assets

Complete risk assessments and work in accordance with safety standards and procedures

Support metering activities during peak periods as required

Participate in occasional interstate travel for training and operational requirements
Roster: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm, plus participation in an on-call roster (approximately 1 in 4 weeks).

About You
You're a safety-focused tradesperson who enjoys working independently, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes in the field. You'll bring:

Certificate III in Plumbing (or higher) and/or a recognised Plumbing trade qualification

Experience in plumbing, drainage, utilities, maintenance, civil construction, or underground infrastructure

Current Australian Driver's Licence

White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Silica Awareness training

Willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call roster and occasional overtime
Gas industry experience is not required. We welcome applications from qualified plumbers looking to build a long-term future in utilities.
