We require security clearance for this role you must be an Australian citizen to be eligible to obtain a security clearance or ideally already hold NV1 security clearance.
We're looking for an Account Director to join our high-performing Government Sales team in Canberra.
This is a strategic, customer-facing role where you'll be responsible for growing and retaining a portfolio of government clients while identifying and winning new business opportunities. You'll build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, lead complex sales engagements, and help government agencies leverage cloud, cyber security, networking and colocation solutions to achieve their business outcomes.

- Growing and retaining revenue across an assigned portfolio of Federal and State Government customers.
- Building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with senior decision-makers, including CIOs, CISOs, IT leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Identifying, qualifying and managing new business opportunities through all stages of the sales lifecycle.
- Leading strategic sales engagements, proposals, tender responses and contract negotiations.
- Partnering with internal technical consultants, architects and service delivery teams to develop compelling customer solutions.
- Developing and executing account plans that drive customer retention, growth and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline while accurately forecasting opportunities through CRM tools.
- Representing Macquarie Government at industry events, customer meetings and government forums.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure outstanding customer experiences and strong Net Promoter Score outcomes.
- Staying informed on government market trends, procurement frameworks and emerging technology solutions.
- You have a strong background in enterprise, government, cloud, telecommunications or technology sales.
- You're motivated by achieving ambitious goals and have a track record of exceeding sales targets in complex B2B environments.
- You understand government procurement, tender processes and strategic account management.
- You enjoy helping customers solve challenges across cloud, cyber security, networking, data centre and managed services solutions.
- You can build trusted relationships and confidently engage with executive and senior government stakeholders.
- You're a strong communicator who can present ideas clearly, influence outcomes and negotiate effectively.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple opportunities and priorities while maintaining a commercial focus.
- You're collaborative by nature and passionate about delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
- You're curious, growth-oriented and committed to continuously learning about new technologies and market trends
- Strong experience managing and growing Federal Government accounts, with a proven track record in technology sales.
- Hold, or have previously held, an Australian Government security clearance.
- A background in ICT, cloud, cyber security or managed services, with a solid understanding of technology solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data, identify opportunities and turn insights into action.
- Advanced negotiation skills with experience supporting complex commercial and contract negotiations.
- A strategic thinker who can balance long-term planning with hands-on execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
- Proven experience developing high-quality bid, tender and proposal responses.
- A collaborative approach and passion for delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
