About the Role
Oseca is looking for an Aboriginal Male Youth Worker (22.5 hours/ week) and an Aboriginal Female Youth Worker (18 hours per week) to join our team Assertive Outreach Team (AOT) based at Peel Health Hub.
In this role, you will support Aboriginal young people and help them reach their goals. You will work with young people, families, schools and community services across the Peel Region.
What You Will Do
- Support and mentor Aboriginal young people.
- Visit schools and community groups to connect with young people.
- Help young people find the support and services they need.
- Build positive relationships with families, schools and community organisations.
- Help keep records and improve our programs.
About You:
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference in the community.
You Will:
- Understand and respect Aboriginal culture and community.
- Work well with others.
- Be friendly and easy to talk to.
- Communicate well with young people, families and other services.
- Have good computer skills.
Essential Requirements:
To apply, you must:
- Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person (Section 50(d) applies).
- Have a qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a similar field, or relevant experience.
- Have at least 2 years’ experience working with young people, preferably in mental health.
- Hold a current / full WA Driver’s Licence.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Hold or be able to obtain a National Police Clearance.
- Complete a pre-employment health assessment.
