MARCIA GIBSONS SENIOR CURL SPECIALIST
Marcia Gibsons Hair Fashions has evolved over its 50+ year existence to become a leading Brisbane hair salon specialising in Curly hair styling. We have strong ethical, inclusive and sustainability values and strive to ensure all our clients enjoy a relaxed and friendly experience with hair styling at the highest standard using only premium quality organic products.
We are currently looking for a full-time, client focused and energetic Curl Specialist with formal curl-specific training qualifications and solid experience styling curly hair to join the dynamic and creative team at our Brisbane salon.
Key responsibilities include:
- Attending to the needs of all clients
- Consulting clients and advising them of home hair care needs
- Managing day-to-day column in an effective and efficient manner
- Attending formal in-house and external training sessions as required
- Learning and perfecting new techniques
- Education of clients about the services available at Marcia Gibsons
- Providing recommendations for products to clients at the salon
- Supporting other team members and salon management as required
What are we looking for?
- A positive, energetic ‘people person’.
- Certificate IV in hairdressing or the overseas equivalent
- Minimum 5-years experience in general hairdressing at a Senior Level
- Minimum 3-years experience as a Curly hair styling specialist
- Advanced Curl by Curl styling qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of the colour wheel including low tox and organic products
- Ability to apply hair colour using a variety of modern techniques
- Ability to understand and advise clients on best-suited hair colour/tones
- Impeccable grooming and impressive customer service skills
- Excellent prioritisation skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to multitask while working under pressure during busy periods
- A passion for the hairdressing industry and desire to continuously maintain knowledge of new styling techniques and trends with a primary focus on Curly hair styling.
- Demonstrated excellent social media skills and confident professional on-camera experience.
- Ability to quickly adapt to multiple electronic management systems

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year
