The Opportunity
We’re offering a full-time internship to a recent Graduate to join our Food Safety & Quality team as a Quality Control Officer. This is a 3 month internship initially, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent position upon successful completion.
This is a hands-on role designed to support Yummy Karma’s high standards for food safety, quality, and consistency. You’ll be the eyes and ears on the production floor, verifying processes, checking compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process and finished product quality inspections in accordance with HACCP, SQF 9, Export and customer standards.
- Monitor CCPs and GMP compliance across production, packing, and dispatch.
- Verify and record temperature controls, metal detection, and cleaning validations.
- Support daily line start-up checks and end-of-shift hygiene inspections.
- Identify and report non-conformances and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Assist in maintaining QA documentation, batch records, and traceability logs.
- Participate in internal audits and support external audits (SQF, customer, or regulatory).
- Provide feedback and training to production teams to reinforce food safety culture.
About You
- Qualifications in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or similar.
- Recent graduate
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and SQF systems.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Flexibility to work early shifts, afternoon shifts, or weekends when required.
