PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surface, completing touch-ups and coordinating panting indoor and outdoor projects of perfect contracting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Apply paint and other decorative and protective finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and structures.
- Erect and safely use scaffolding and ladders and place drop sheets and protective coverings to protect surrounding areas.
- Prepare surfaces by removing old paint, wallpaper and other existing finishes.
- Repair and prepare surfaces by fixing minor woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and sanding, smoothing and sealing surfaces.
- Select, mix and prepare paints to achieve the required colours, shades, consistency and finish.
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains and other coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment as appropriate.
- Hang wallpaper and other wall coverings, ensuring patterns are correctly matched and edges are accurately trimmed.
- Inspect and prepare surfaces between coats to achieve an even and professional finish.
- Clean and maintain painting equipment, tools and work areas and appropriately store paints and materials following completion of work.
Qualifications and Skills :
Minimum qualification required is AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV. Mandatory 2 years of relevant work experience is required. In the absence of qualification, 3 years of relevant experience is required.

- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks under a variety of conditions.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and overtime;
- Ability to work in all weather and temperature conditions;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Well versed in maintenance, cleaning and debris removal tasks;
- Demonstrated ability to work in extreme weather conditions;
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
