Lead PSA's national procurement and inventory function across six Australian locations, with responsibility for supplier performance, strategic sourcing, inventory optimisation, working capital and team leadership.
Position Overview
PSA is seeking an experienced Procurement & Inventory Manager to lead and develop our national purchasing and inventory function across six locations in Australia. The role will support a broad product portfolio and will combine strategic procurement, inventory planning, commercial negotiation and data analysis. The successful candidate will lead the Purchasing Coordinator and Inventory Controller and work closely with sales, operations, finance and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement PSA's national procurement and inventory strategy.
Lead supplier negotiations, pricing reviews and commercial discussions.
Identify, assess and develop new domestic and international suppliers.
Monitor steel prices, foreign exchange rates, freight costs and commodity movements to ensure supplier pricing remains competitive.
Manage supplier performance across pricing, quality, delivery, lead times and service levels.
Optimise inventory holdings across all six Australian locations.
Establish and regularly review minimum and maximum stock levels, reorder points and other ERP inventory parameters.
Analyse sales history, demand trends and stock movements to improve forecasting and replenishment.
Identify and reduce slow-moving, obsolete and excess inventory.
Improve inventory turns and working capital without compromising product availability or customer service.
Develop procurement and inventory KPIs and provide regular reporting and recommendations to management.
Drive continuous improvement in purchasing, inventory planning and ERP processes.
Lead, support and develop the Purchasing Coordinator and Inventory Controller.
Skills and Experience
Significant experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management or supply chain.
Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience.
Demonstrated experience managing a large and diverse SKU portfolio.
Strong understanding of inventory planning, forecasting and stock optimisation.
Experience working with ERP or MRP systems and using data to support decision-making.
Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel and reporting capability.
Experience dealing with domestic and international suppliers.
Understanding of landed cost, foreign exchange, freight and commodity pricing.
Experience identifying procurement savings and working capital improvement opportunities.
Previous team leadership or management experience.
Experience within manufacturing, construction products, industrial distribution, building products or a similar environment would be highly regarded.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred but not essential where the candidate has strong relevant industry experience. Professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS would be advantageous.

Reporting Structure
The Procurement & Inventory Manager will report to senior management and will have responsibility for leading the Purchasing Coordinator and Inventory Controller. The role will work closely with Sales, Operations, Warehousing, Finance and other key stakeholders across PSA's national business.
