The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Civil Operations, you'll be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day civil construction activities delivered by GemLife Civil across South East Queensland.
Leading a dedicated team of up to 50 personnel, including Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Plant Operators and Labourers, you'll drive the successful delivery of civil infrastructure works that support the development of GemLife's luxury lifestyle resorts.
From planning and programming through to resource allocation, procurement and project delivery, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the high standards GemLife is known for. This role also provides oversight of GemLife's plant and equipment allocation, ensuring resources are strategically deployed to maximise efficiency and performance across multiple active sites.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee multiple civil construction projects across South East Queensland.

Develop and execute construction programs aligned with project delivery objectives.

Drive project outcomes across safety, quality, environmental compliance, budget and programme performance.

Review construction documentation to ensure accuracy, constructability and compliance.

Manage contractor procurement and tendering activities to achieve optimum commercial outcomes.

Provide regular project reporting and updates to key stakeholders.

Partner with Development and Construction teams to conduct constructability reviews and identify delivery efficiencies.

Continuously evaluate construction methodologies and implement industry best practices.

Support the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance and compliance systems.

Drive innovation, productivity improvements and operational efficiencies across civil construction activities.

Coordinate closely with Residential and Commercial Construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery and timely handover of serviced sites.

Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a strong culture of accountability, collaboration and performance.
The Successful Applicant Will Bring

Extensive experience in civil construction with a strong background delivering earthworks, services, structures, concrete and pavement works.

Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role such as Civil Construction Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager or Project Manager.

Proven ability to manage and allocate plant, equipment and workforce resources across multiple projects.

Experience delivering large-scale subdivisions, group title communities, commercial or industrial developments.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to monitor, manage and forecast project budgets and performance.

Sound understanding of survey systems, GPS technology and geotechnical requirements.

Experience using project management systems such as Procore (highly regarded).

Exposure to civil design software including AutoCAD and 12d (advantageous).

Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across teams and contractors.
