About the Opportunity
The Head of Creative Studio is responsible for leading and developing the branch, running a visible, prioritised program of work. The role provides leadership to three teams of digital creatives who take briefs and manage engagements that come from across the Library, delivering digital experiences, products and services that show innovation as well as being workable.
This branch head role is responsible for ensuring that onsite and online digital products are developed with the user at the forefront, and meet the Library's accessibility standards. This role works closely with the Head of Technology and the Head of Innovation and Research so that the Library's digital products are technically sound and informed by the Digital directorate's research and practice.
About You
We value your experience leading a digital platform and your nimble, agile approach. The ability to build and strengthen relationships is complemented by experience leading design, development and content professionals. Your practice incorporates roadmaps, discovery, and measurement for live digital products. You will also have a working knowledge of analytics programs like GA4, and an awareness of applied AI in content and collections contexts. Importantly, you will be capable of balancing multiple priorities while delivering high-quality output.
In addition, you will come to us with:
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a multidisciplinary team, preferably within the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector.
- Proven ability to apply commercial thinking to the development and delivery of digital products and services.
- Demonstrated experience building digital capability within organisations and establishing service parameters.
- Successful track record of delivering a significant program of work for a website or digital platform, including developing creative concepts and managing them through to delivery, and ensuring products are accessible in line with WCAG guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in internal and external stakeholder relationship management, including contractors, creative agencies and third-party contracts.
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (e.g., Bachelor of Digital Media, Bachelor of Communication), or equivalent relevant experience.
