Everyday we are surrounded by loving and friendly people. As you walk around the base, everybody that pass by you will smile at you and greet you. Everyone works in a different ministry or services. I was working with 2 different ministries during my time there. Both of the ministry that I worked with were amazing. I learned so much about leadership, teamwork, management, cross-culture, communications and physical endurance and i also learned how to raise fund. Every day we work from 8 Am till 5.30 Pm. The hardest part of the job is the requirements to travel overseas for a mission trip and we had to raise our own finances which is not a small amount. We would need to raise thousands of dollars and it is not easy. We also need to raise finances for ourselves for our living expanses. But regardless of the hardship, at the end of the day, i feel so happy because we really help each other.

Youth with a mission (Ywam) is a non profit missions organization.

I worked their full time for 5 years and loved it.
There are so many opportunities for everyone
Literally any skill you have can and will be used here.
The place is amazing and people are friendly and function as a family. There are also so many things you can learn, dont have a skill for something but want to? No worries, there are people who are always willing to teach you.
Also, you always have someone with accountability for you. Not having the best day? No worries, grab that person, go for a walk, talk it out, be refreshed.

The place is full of diversity and buzzing with innovation.

Full volunteer so there is no pay but you build a support system with friends and family and any other connections you may have.

You get to travel the world!!!

Everyday looked different, One day I could be mentoring my students, the next day I could be in the kitchen making food for 60+ people, or I could be in the office all day organizing flights and accommodation for our speakers/students/staff. I learned incredible organization skill, how to work well in a team and communicate well. I learned the importance of time management and balancing work and home life. I loved the people I worked with they quickly became family. The hardest part of my job was you never really left work. Since we lived and worked on base it was hard to separate the two. My favorite part of my job was I loved the pace, how everyday was different, I loved my students and getting to pour into peoples lives. I loved the environment that was encouraged and cultivated!

It changes every day but at some point I engage with 30 - 40 people aged 18-35 and deliver an accredited training package. I usually take lectures on World View or Missions in an international context.

My co-workers are from all over the world 20 different nations are represented. This has helped me work with a wide variety of cultures and languages.

The hardest part is being away from family for extended periods of time If I am overseas.

Most enjoyable part Is seeing young people discover who they are and that they can help others from different countries.

This organization preys on young people to get free labor to build their organization. They reward blind obedience and punish any contradictions to their ideals. There is no work/life balance. There is no pay, instead volunteers must pay for room and board and anything else they need. 

I have had a great experience at YWAM Perth. I came by myself years ago and the community of YWAM Perth welcomed me into their family even though I was a newly arrived. This community has become my family and like family they are there for me. They embrace me as I who am and encouraged/helped grow me into the young leader I am today.

It was life changing to work for this organisation, I was able to lead teams of young people all around the world. There is over 200 bases for this organisation all around the world. We are nonprofit and reach more people because of it. It is an organisation that is making a difference in this world.

spent the first 2-2.5 months attending lectures on various topics including Identity, Lordship, Forgiveness, etc. Spent six weeks in Papua New Guinea providing medical services. Two of the six weeks were spent aboard a medical ship where patients came on board to receive eye surgery & dental services.

Take some time and set aside some money. Invest in travel and opportunity to help and serve people all over the world. If you love volunteering, this is the organization for you! However, be warned, you will experience incredible character growth and life changes.

Loved YWAM.  Great experience and growth in Christ.  Was it hard, yes.  But that's the point.  Get yourself together before you can affect another.
