Lululemon has been known to be one of the most sought after places to work and has given me so many lifelong friendships and connections. However, the Great Resignation is truly setting in, and working for this company currently leaves a lot to be desired. Here are some of the key takeaways I've had about working for this business for a while.
- Lack of pay transparency
- Below average pay/ no pay rise
- Extremely hard to progress (especially for people of colour)
- Tokenistic culture - seems very attractive and a lot of talk about personal development and work-life balance, but a lot of pressure to participate in extracurricular activities and community events outside of work time. 
- Managers are given free rein to do anything they like, without accountability. Any complaints are brushed under the carpet. My manager is not held accountable for gaslighting their employees.
-The systems and processes are primitive and are one of the biggest stressors for interacting with customers due to them being escalated because of system failure/incompetence.

I worked at lululemon for 3 years they were super fun and exciting to work for in the beginning, giving good discounts and paying you to go to yoga classes.
However after a while they expect and demand  casuals to work under the same rules as full timers without offering full time contracts.
They expect you to attend classes and meetings and never get paid for them.
They are very negative about anything outside of work that doesn’t have anything to do with Lululemon and are not flexible for people that have University, or other jobs, children etc.
I was not allowed to change shifts even though I was a casual and calling in sick or going home (even when I had an allergic reaction to peanut butter and had to use my epi pen) was frowned upon I got a warning if I had to leave.
They try and force everyone to do landmark which is literally just a pyramid self help seminar scheme.

Everyday work is easy, Bosses don't like to be called bosses but they are no different than any other corporate in the world. If you know someone up higher (i.e. friend or family) you have good chances to be appreciated or helped in your career. This can't be done since most of the times before you even start working, there are already groups (family or friends). Its hard to give feedback to those people since they know the boss and giving feedback would mean harder time for yourself in future.
But its a great company if you are between jobs or just make some dollars while studying because hard work isn't expected and you can spend your time here by just being a person who would make boss happy.
The only active thing at the work is active wear.

Working for lululemon was a great experience that I will never forget.

I loved their core values that much that I felt at home everyday that I got there.

I learned to work on a very fast pace as a team member and always having a great attitude and impeccable customer service skills.

What I loved the most about this Company is all the training and self-development programs that invested on me and the great community networks I did within the Yoga and fitness community.

They support you too hard to follow your dreams and goals that it was one of the reasons I decided to start running my own business as Yoga instructor and that is how Be&live Yoga emerged. 

I feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to work for this amazing company.

a typical day is just going in doing your job then leaving
i've learned a lot through that work place, how to balance work and home life and how to stay fit and healthy and positive at the same time.
management was great there, if there was an issue they would fix it straight away without hesitation.
co-workers were a little different to your average work place, they allowed couples married or not to work there, it worked out really well because they like to keep a nice close nit team.
the hardest part of the job is knowing that your going to be doing the same job as you did yesterday, its very repetitive but they always try to make the days a little better.
the most enjoyable part of the job is when they reward us with team building activities, for example paint ball.

A typical day in the lululemon athletica store.

Fun vibes all around. Energetic, creative and colourful environment. Working with a retail team with atleast 6 other members at any one time. I was involved in daily store operations, cash handling, financial budgeting, supporting staff in their development and wellbeing. I lead by example on the floor as we provided a great experience for customers. The goal being to exemplify lululemon core values of people living long, healthy fun lives. Having awesome inspiring and motivating conversations with guests that come in to store really make it all worth while.

My time at Lululemon was not enjoyable due to the lack of management and constant change of team leaders there was no structure or care for what the employees wanted. The team leaders were rude and inconsiderate of personal life matters, at times they couldn’t handle the stress and demand of the job and became upset and unable to take control of the situation 

have learnt to be more open, my day consists of heavy lifting, fork lifting, palletizing, forklift training others, slotting, receiving and delegating. the culture is usually fun, the hardest part would be that i find my self bored and no longer challenged. i enjoy all the people that work here

By FAR the worst and most uncomfortable place I've ever worked - Literally scum

Everyone I met there was miserable

Contractors are treated as second class citizens, even in the equipment they are provided. management and directors were abysmal and I was let go for voicing my opinions

Has great culture revolving around positivity, health and wellness. Company is all about creating positive relationships with guests and community, but at the cost of management pushing and micromanaging employees to constantly engage with guests in store - may seem forced at times. Level of micromanagement depends on leaders.
