If you are after a job where you are taken for granted and head office couldn't care less about you then you've come to the right place. If you are looking for a friendly work environment with a good relationship with head office and a management team that treats you like a human then you should go anywhere else. The YWCA is a corrupt organisation that gives no support to its staff and could care even less about the safety of the children in its care. Find somewhere, anywhere else to work if you want to feel like you are being treated like a human or if you want to wake up each day looking forward to going to work. I would never and I will never recommend this business to anyone.

My day working with the YWCA was always fun.  Our team got along and we were like a family having been working with them for so long . I learned so many strageries on how to empower people and the hardest thing was is telling some people that you are not able to help them out due to lack of funding, no accommodation available.  The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing that you were able to house assist a family in securing long term affordable stable housing.

I have been working at the YWCA for the last few months, and have had an absolute blast. I work with many amazing women that have helped me with my overall happiness at work and having that great feeling waking up in the morning. The workplace is lovely and you can always lean on others for support if something confuses you. Great company with great people who do great things for the community.

My day is generally as it comes with the odd meeting or planned event in there.

As a emergency accommodation service our day tends to be directed by what is happening for the clients at that time.

Hardest part of the job is trying to contact people to assist them. They can be hard to get a hold of for many varying reasons.

Most enjoyable part, seeing them succeed in their goals.

The people are great, and have a real passion for what they do. They work hard to help everyone they can, and if they can't help, they'll find someone who can. As a Not-For-Profit organisation, they rely on donations and their own fundraising efforts to continue their amazing work.

I found the culture at YWCA quite depressing: people were siloed into their own teams; there was little presence, trust or communication from the executive team; and in the end a few bad apples were able and allowed to poison the well and attack and upset the good work of many people in the organisation.

The YWCA Queensland work environment is a fun productive work place. In the time being at YWCA Queensland i became advanced in many work skills and could feel i was building a stronger work ethic. The most enjoyable part of being apart of the environment at YWCA was learning new things whether it be about team- building, the personality of others or the cultural diversity.

The YWCA lacks leadership right from the top down. The lack of change management, poor communication and leadership has created a toxic culture in the merged national organisation. This company does not live its promoted feminist values; disempowering staff with a top heavy unaccountable executive team.

The YWCA was an amazing place to work at, the staff and management were amazing and supportive. I would actually love to work there again in a reception roll or something as the experience that I received while working there is amazing
