Each day was a little different, meeting a wider cross section of  clients in the community and hearing their stories, then writing up their service plans.  I learned that people most often simply want someone to listen and then act in a supportive and professional manner.  I had a great Team leader who always checked on how I was doing.  The workplace culture was reasonably collaborative, but each team had their own priorities and responsibilities that didn't always gel with our team.  The hardest part of the job was the travelling each day (over 100klms) not including the client visits.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the satisfaction I got from being able to help an elderly person stay safely in their own home.

Nothing,  I enjoy my job very much. I work casual as a fitness instructor

Everyone is nice and kind. They praise the good work and provide feedback on things that can be improved. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I work mostly in the mornings and evenings. Because of the marruecos of my job,  my days are split in two.  It's okay for me.

I worked here for 12 months over several different areas and roles.  I absolutely LOVED the first role here, the manager was awesome, understanding and reasonable.  The second role I had was during COVID and i was working from home.  I had a great manager but then she left and it wasn't the same afterward.  Tried several times to get a permanent position but kept getting casual or secondment roles.  Overall a good experience

Expectation Too High.  Focus no longer on educating and supporting children.  Paperwork and housekeeping the main focus, sadly.  The culture shifted as management changed hands and interview process simplified.  No personal touch, employees are just a number.  Those in high positions lacking people skills. If you do not follow the culture and dare to question those above you, they will find a way to force you to move on quickly. No recognition for hard work.

No enough support for middle management!

Work load and outcome expectations

Not great and seemed to be getting worse.

Hectic from when you sit at your desk until knocking off!

The best professional development, very positive work-life balance with flexible work arrangements and comprehensive wellbeing programs.

A typical was reading through documents that had been written from other staff members and editing their work as well having the opportunity to write some of my own pieces for the Wyndham City Council newsletter.
I learnt how important it was to work to a deadline and got hands on experience in editing and writing pieces to specific guidelines and how to meet a deadline.

The theories that I learned in school was put into practice. I enjoyed going out inspecting places for cleanliness and enforcement on the food safety policies and hygience practices.
The hardest part of the job was to find addresses of eating places and shops selling food for inspection.

Preparing incident reports for vandalised Council property Monitor the stock taking of planting materials Create Purchase Order Process invoices for payment
Manage and maintain council owned grounds  

Culture very poor. Do as little as you possibly can and don't show up indiscretions where people don't do their job correctly or at all. Keep the water calm at all costs and if found out deny deny deny is their way. Residents are paying for services that are not provided. Local councils are corrupt and ripping people off blind.
