Couldnt organise to get me out to minesite even though name was requested by company to be employed, this went on for WEEKS. Next, another office couldnt tell whether or not another job was confirmed, rate of pay, roster, starting date etc So I rang and took another temp job and ended up being black marked by that office (Lies told all thru Workpac that i refused to go to job on day i was meant to leave) and lost 3 upcoming positions. Other offices then REFUSED to take my calls, I heard them over the phone, as soon as they heard my name they actually refused to speak with me, after telling me they had previously put my name forward. 
Now where i am (took many phone calls and explainations to get some sort of work with them after all that, and they really have the monopoly here) they are charging me minesite accommodation and REFUSE to put me forward for ANY other BETTER Workpac positions. (eg 7&7)
This is because there are only about 20 people left on my crew out of about 80, after 5 months. Latest gimic is although they have said they can lay us off with only 30 mins notice, they want us to sign agreements to giving 4 weeks notice if we want ANY time off. 
No salary sacrificing, no sick pay, no holidays, no rain pay and no chance of permanancy and they think this is an ok way to treat hard working reliable workers.....NOT happy Workpac.
And it costs me from $400 up to $700+ per shift to get to work, and up to 11hours to get home, and they still will not put me forward for anything better even when Ive had great comments from Supervisors.

A typical day at work starts with a 'huddle' this where we receive information in regards to the equipment we will be operating this shift and also the conditions and any other important information needed.
I take this time to also catch up with work mates and see how things are going for them this time round. 
We then head out to our loading units and complete a handover with the previous operator on our piece of machinery and take time to look around and fill out a Take 5 thinking about the task at hand and the conditions we will be operating in. 
I think the hardest part of my job is being away from my loved ones but this is ok as our rooster allows for me to have a work/lifestyle balance. For me the most enjoyable part of my job is having a safe shift and being able to see I have accomplished the task set out and am able to go home safely to my loved ones.

What is the best part of working at the company?
They helped me into an occupation that I would not normally have been able to do!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Keeping the hours of work rather than a salary.   I turn up to work, do my job and go home the same time as all the crew that I work with yet I need to record. I would prefer to record the hours that are an anomaly rather than the expected. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I have well left the Enviroment however as I notice if the turn over of staff is high the culture is poor. If the crew have enduring members there seems to be stability and sharing of “that’s how we do it around here”.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There are many contexts to this question. I’m not sure which one to zero in on to be helpful for the survey.

What is the best part of working at the company?
This company acquires  great placement opportunities  and pay on time.  I found they are lacking when it comes to empathy.  There is no human side to their recruitment consultants. I had  a family emergency  in the middle of my shift, my pregnant partner was ill and required me to drive her to hospital, as a result I was told the work was no longer available and was blacklisted from further opportunities, based on the fact I had to leave mid shift. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Rude and entitled recruitment consultants Inconsistent work, and no regard for workers personal circumstance.

I’m my experience it was toxic

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8-10 hours of hard labour in residential or commercial construction.

I learnt a great deal about Workplace Health & Safety and effectively managed multiple responsibilities in a busy environment and identified urgent tasks, ensuring they were prioritised and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
As I am highly experienced at operating under high-pressure situations, where I have been required to carry out complex tasks within a short timeframe. I processed highly technical information, and remained calm and maintained a high standard of work when I was under pressure. 
I had a couple of achievements in which where;
I was made the Site Administrator for the successfully implemented database, CMO; and I overhauled the backlog of archiving and data entry required to be entered.

All trade groups consulted each other to coordinate tasks within the space to efficiently complete timelines.  I worked for a work group. The host company was supportive and friendly and my application  of initiative and problem solving was appreciated.  Health and safety procedures were followed.  The most enjoyable parts of the job were working with a diverse group of skilled people and sharing knowledge.

As a female going into the underground mining industy, I was excited by the opportunity and keen as mustard to learn new skills and get in and have a go. During the initial training I was offered a shift and role that I agreed to. When it came time to take up I was given the only shift I didn't want and a different role. There was no support from the company just unfulfilled promises. I found the company untrustworthy

Workpac Health Care gives me an opportunity to improve my skills and abilities in providing safe and quality care for the clients. The staff is accommodating whenever I have concerns about my schedule at work. The company also look after my welfare as their staff. I am working as an Agency AIN and with every facility that I have to work at , Workpac staff is there to guide me and reassure me especially when I am anxious doing  a shift to a new environment. I just learned to be proactive and always ask if there is something that I do not know in order for me to deliver safe and effective care.

Throughout my time with Workpac I had several issues with them contracting trough them in WA mining industry and to be very frank, would only work for them again if I were indeed very desperate.  
*They deducted money from my wages without advising me and for erroneous reasons. 
*They pay far less per hour than other providers like DT and Skilled.
*They dont pay Superannuation for every hour worked.  
*They expect you to do all the documentation forwarding of onsite work - which is unreasonable as you live in a donga without fax/scanner machines.

Flexible hours with a good work/life balance. Staff are friendly and willing to help. The hardest part of working with WorkPac is that you will have to adapt to the hospital you are currently working in, so policies and procedures may vary. Also getting to know the staff and patients are tricky because of the unfamiliarity. The most enjoyable part of the job though, would be that I am able to learn different things and gain clinical skills/experience from various wards.
