Management have no clue - from state manager to head office management 
Tell you at your annual review to aim for bigger things (bigger stores, other roles etc) go for them for management to shoot you down saying you’re not experienced… 
If a manager leaves it’s up to the next in line to run the place (sometimes even casuals!!) - but don’t expect to get paid for it. 
Can’t take leave over Xmas / new years and managers / 2IC have to change their rosters to do crazy hours for Xmas and Boxing Day sales. No work life balance. 
Store teams are normally very good and get along. Casuals have the chance to pick up shifts at other stores. 
Discount in store and across other brands was nice. 

I;am a person with strong communication & customer service skills, with a good sence of humour. As I hold more than 15 years of front line customer service skills, which I started back in Sri Lanka as a FLIGHT ATTENDANT, ever since not only I have worked my way up the ladder but also sharpened my skills and polished myself. At Witchery I have my own customers who will only come to me to be served. In the past three years at witchery I have created my own rappo, with my customers.

A typical day at work would involve opening the store and making sure it was ready for the day- which would include: Cleaning, merchandising, counting floats, stock and checking/changing the roster when needed. I learned how to manage an environment when there are multiple personalities you have to deal with. The hardest part of the job was managing a store when it was understaffed, other than that each day was enjoyable with a strong team and loyal customers.

Just enjoyed the whole feel of the store, fashion.. and layout,,the staff, were great to work with,, we had a great team,,

stock filling,
cleaning
sales sales sales.
invoicing and transfers,,,
learned more about the stock side,,of stocktaking,,,you learn something new eday just even with the clientele and online sales,, was another avenue of learning for me which was a bonus,,as thats the way alot of people make purchases these days,,

Witchery's work environment was challenging

The senior regional management style was overly controlling, and communication was often questionable.

The company culture felt unsupportive, with limited opportunities for growth. The company feels like a sinking ship

Compensation was also below industry standard. 

Overall, it was a difficult experience, and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Everyone but the Manager in my team were friendly and supportive. I learned everything from my team members who weren’t in management. The manager is not supportive, gossips, brags and is a bully. I never felt comfortable working with them. Unfortunately the higher up managers were partial. The positives were new collection of clothing and meeting new customers but that’s about it. 

Enjoyed working for a short while. Learnt a lot about is trending in fashion and how to style customers. Staff discount/allowance needs to be higher since the price of items are significantly increasing. Shifts can go by slowly, usually understaffed and pressured to pick up more shifts. Favouritism and gossiping amongst coworkers.

Working at witchery wasn't bad however the management style was way off which caused my motivation to go. 
Unpacking stock, tagging, steaming and serving customers was my main priority. 
The other casuals were a hit and a miss, some were nice but it was obvious who the favourites were.

appropriate for a the young christmas casual, not much room or incentive to grow! job culture is to sell sell sell, oppose to improving customer service and client satisfaction techniques that will ultimately sell (culture is slightly out dated)

Great company to work for. My mangers m, area managers and coworkers are easy going and approachable. Styling customers was a breeze as the stock we had was beautifully made
