Horrible work environment, upper management was very unprofessional! Was a very malicious work environment where budgets were pushed however they were very unreasonable. 

Black our periods were held whenever the company wanted to go on sale and therefore we were never able to request time off without management threatening our job. 

Extremely high staff turn over just reaffirms the poor management of the company. Only stayed as hours were available and the casual staff I worked with were lovely girls.

  The store manager was inadequately trained and lacked the fundamental management skills and was rather insensitive over all it was just a mess of a company to work for. The casual staff did the most for the store and  were hardly rewarded for our efforts. 

Also the commission is non-existent worked there for over a year and we never earnt anything extra, just the minimum wage. 

The expectations upon casual staff and the punishment for small errors was absurd. As a casual job, it was not worth the hassle nor stress.

I started this job as I wanted something different not realising till after I started how high the turnover rate was. I had 3 and a bit days of training, a lot to remember but wasn't too hard till I was made to be alone for the first time on my 6th day. I was alone more then I had someone with me. Got into trouble for ridiculous things like kneeling, cleaning at night instead of the morning, shoes not being perfectly aligned, finding an odd pair (blamed for this odd pair yet I had never sold it before), talking in passing of the other full time member. Upper management were terrible, the way the owners talk to you over email is crazy, you get attacked for a shoe being out of place or for kneeling when you unpack stock. You are constantly watched on the cameras and criticised for everything you do. I quit after 2 months even with no job lined up, wanted to quit before they fired me for no reason. Made a genuine friend while working there and enjoyed when we worked together but other then that I wouldn't recommend.

No support at all, unrealistic budgets and abuse when budgets are not achieved. Provide zero training and yet they are rude to the employees if they make mistakes.
What's the point of being a store or an assistant manager when they have no rights and they MUST ask the Head Office for permision to breathe because of the extreme levels of micro-managment.
They DO NOT care at all nor do they provide support and all employees are simply numbers and viewed as completely replaceable.
If you need to take day off you MUST call the Head Office and there is going to be so many questions why do you wanna take day off and if you wanna take annual leave you'll wait for ages till they get back to you.
If there are bad reviews about one of the stores they'll call the employees and yell at them. But have they ever seen the bad reviews towards them? Don't they think the problem might be in them ?

Sell in of new product lines ranges. Day to day management of around 40 accounts (5 major accounts). Daily liaising with buyers and general managers of footwear departments. Chasing repeat purchase orders on a daily basis. Presentations on new products. I learnt that there is no better way to immerse yourself in a family business other than taking on all challenges head first, speaking up and voicing my opinion goes a long way. This family owned business had a very challenging working environment, but the last 6 months of the role i made it a very autonomous position where i had great outcomes for the business. 
Travel and customer interaction was the most enjoyable part of the job!

Pros: 
- The coworkers you meet there are friendly and nice

Cons: 
- you work by yourself 99% of the time
- it takes several months before you become "eligible" for key holder rates, even though you are doing key holder tasks. This is not legal. They say this as key holders are paid more...
- area managers do nothing but stay on their phones when they come in
- you must like cleaning because its what you'll be doing everyday all day
- there is ZERO access to internet on the computer
- you are CONSTANTLY monitored via camera both on the shop front and in the backroom, and they can and will watch the cameras at any point
- keep your phone in your bag - not even if its turned off at the back. They will talk to you about it

The staff within the store are usually really nice. When it comes to upper management it is borderline workplace harassment and abuse. Cannot believe the things I heard come out of not only regional managers, but let alone the treatment by the owner himself. This job gave me so much anxiety I had to leave. You are over worked and put under a ridiculous amount of stress. there is no thank you's or gratitude by this company. I would not even wish my worst enemy to work in a place like this! The management staff sit on the security cameras and watch you all day so they can pick on you for the smallest mistake!

Management watches the camera all of their shift to pick on any flaw that either the employee has done or what employees need to fix within the store and call every 10-15 minutes to address it.

Theres no job security within this role.
Management is very poor, very unprofessional, looks down upon employees and dont listen to us.

In the backroom theres a big OHS issue, when grabbing specific shoe style/size you basically are so rushed so you have to climb the SHELVES in order to get your customer's shoes. 

You dont have much of a break time, its very blurred especially if the store is packed, they insist you cut your break short to assist other coworkers.

The only positive thing I can say is how the staff members are so nice! Buuuut the head office, the owner of this company is a complete a hole. The owners couldn't care less about the staff. Only about the money.
The policies and procedures make it hard to solve conflict. The quality isn't that great either and staff members do NOT get a discount!!! You work by yourself 95% of the time doing a 3 persons job!!! As casuals they make you do way more than the typical 'sales assisant' role. Ita very stressful being on your own while having to do so many tasks while serving multiple people. Its not a good job. Yes the pay for casual is decent BUT not worth it. People dont last here for a reason. 

Would never recommend to work here. 
Upper management is terrible and micro manage everything you do. They are so cheap and the product quality is TERRIBLE. 
I once got in trouble for using more than 1 staple on a bundle of paperwork because head office doesn't want to pay for more staples.
I worked by myself for 5 days a week, no lunch cover or anything. 
Staff discount is ridiculous and majority of the time never approved by the owners. You're better off waiting for an in store sale, but even then would not recommend purchasing as the leather is cheap and falls apart within a couple of months.

This is the worst job I have ever had. They are bullies from the top down. 
They have absolutely ridiculous policy and procedures which make it impossible to provide customers with the service they deserve. 
They will not provide you with any type of reference when u leave ( it’s another one of there policy and procedures that they don’t provide references at any level) 
The cameras are on ridiculous . They are watching all of the time like you are on big brother
