A typical day involves a late start, restocking shelves from the delivery. Learnt valuable skills such as teamworking, personal enterprising, communication, being approachable and friendly, and customer service. All of the team pull together so that if someone is having a bad day it doesnt reflect on how much work has been done. Hardest part of the job is working a split shift when covering extra hours. Most enjoyable part of the job is the people you meet and work with.

Generally the people I worked with were wonderful, but it took a few months of me working there to really feel included by my colleagues, some were very rude to me and didn’t warm up at all, I think it was probably because I was quite a bit younger then them. A lot of favouritism and I found not very helpful when there is an issue. Would rather dump work on you then sort it themselves. I hated working here towards the end of my time. 

I was working there for nearly 2 years and was only allowed one day during my time there. they were always a shortage of staff and people leaving that the work environment became intense due to having soo many responsibilities. sometimes they would be only 2 cashiers with a long line of customers waiting and abusing you at the same time. management was rubbish and always unorganized. pay was not worth the job.

Working at Wilko's was really good. Other employees were friendly, welcoming and willing to help when I first started working. Employees were polite and approachable and made it more comfortable to start working. I learned many new things working at Wilko's, ranging from how to do stock rotation, how to work the tills and how to provide better help and support for customers.

Often working 3 hour shifts which is a complete waste of time. No paid breaks. Management and other employees are great and very supportive. Overall easy work but the hours are too short would be better if they offered a 6 hour shift on one day instead of 3 hour shifts on 2 days. 

Just a normal day serving customers, putting items back and helping customers with items which they needed or wanted to order.
Co-workers was fun to work with.

There is a great sense of support at Wilko, from other team members and management. There is room to progress in the job and learn new skills, that are vital to the working world.

Productive fun work place. Somes its hard to do what is expected of you as you have soo much to do and not enough time but you do the best you can within the time you have.

Stack shelves, sweep floors and help customers, work on a till, organise the warehouse and ensure promotion items are distributed across the shop floor
