I was the first point of contact for visitors, family and friends of the clients.
I answered phones emails and faxes
I ordered all stock for the facility
I did all payroll duties
I booked clients in to the facility, preparing agreements and bonds
I reconciled accounts and petty cash.
I was in charge of all archiving
we had loads of fun days for the clients dress up days and fun food days
The hardest part of the job was clashing with another staff member, unfortunately they were very hard to pick what mood they were in.
The most enjoyable part was the contact I had with the clients, they had a wealth of knowledge and were happy to share their stories.

I was eager to go into work knowing that I was going to be busy.
The residents always greeted me, were genuinely happy to see me and that made me smile.
Every day I would learn something new,
everyone was keen to take the time to teach me something in a new area...we had a routine, we strived on working as a team in a clean and healthy environment and being organized made the kitchen run smoothly though out the day.

Hardest part of the job was being at work and having anxiety about the behaviour of my Autistic son Patrick. 
I wanted to be there for him but i also didn't want to let my residents or team down.

Management i cant fault. Caring, understanding. 
They always thanked me, encouraged and showed their appreciation.

Great staff and fellow workers, lovely residents. Frequent changes in managerial staff has affected morale and job stability especially for casual employment.
Day starts with assigning workers to areas to provide personal care to residents and getting them showered and dressed for the day. Medicating when assigned and then assisting to feed breakfasts where needed. Time management , team work and a cheerful environment an asset. Manual handling is the most difficult part of the job and all policies and procedures must be adhered to for the physical health of the staff and for the rules of the company.
The most enjoyable part of the job is the care and satisfaction between the residents and staff .

Typical day at work ,busy, varied duties, friendly residents, supportive staff.
Experience in ACFI Documentation and training and its importance to the facility and workers.
Management have a challenging job re extension of facility and increase in resident numbers.
Co-workers fantastic, great team work and support.
Hardest part of the job is time management when understaffed.
Most enjoyable part of the job is the satisfaction return from residents and their happiness!

no proper handover time to know what's happening in the previous shift , rushing to do your medications and treatment for clients.
That nurses are just a number  management don't care.
Roster team  does not know how to handle under staff while they hire all the time. replacing a permanent staff to cover up for another level given short notice and if they provide staff they less working hours. people on leave would not replaced with specific duties.
working  with only 2 staff with 38 clients with specific needs,
your co-workers always work as a team.

I work across all 4 buildings as an AIN. The nurses are very qlickey and won't talk to you unless your from their ethnic background, and constantly group chat in their home language.  Staff are rude, lazy and hostile.   Management are overly critical and unsupportive.   Trust noone there, as staff tell lies about you, and pass the buck. Pay is low, conditions poor, and not enough time to do documentation,  so unpaid overtime. 


Whiddon has a wonderful multicultural vibe, lots of people to talk to about their experiences, their culture and their younger years.
they also have a great scholarship programs to help develop your skills.
everyone is will to help, Management do listen to everyone and do their best to make the day to day smoother.
i enjoy meeting the residents, listening to their stories and giving back to them the best way i can.  Whiddon really is a great place to work.

A typical day entails, cooking dinner for 60 residents, ordering stock for all shifts, rostering kitchen staff to cover six regular shifts, liaising with RN's about residents dietary needs which can change daily, making sure all paperwork is filled in for each shift.

Great place to work as a team & caring for aged care residence. In house training. Working in a fast paced kitchen handling & preparing  food. Working with dementia  residence as well as the frail aged. The hardest part of the job was seeing residence finding every day chores a task to do so helping out as much as possible was rewarding. The staff I worked with were very friendly and appreciative towards each other.

A typical day working for Frank Whiddon Masonic Homes was learning anything from how to use a switchboard to accounts receivable to doing a mail merge. I was employed through Frank Whiddon Masonic Homes on a Business Adminstration Traineeship.
My co-workers were great there and very patient whilst I was in the learning process. The most enjoyable part of working there was learning from professionals.
